After relaxing in the spa that afternoon, Elizabeth and I headed
off to dinner. After we both changed into our evening attire, I
guided her to the Hotel Vancouver. I left her in the lobby for a
second, ostensibly to check on our reservations. I returned a minute
later and guided her deeper into the hotel to the pickup area located
in the middle of the hotel (it’s unique design meant that it appeared
we were going to the restaurant in the hotel). Waiting for us there
was our limo.
Off to Bishop’s we went for the most enjoyable meal of my life.
We started of with a Spanish sparkling wine (Elizabeth’s pick) and
both had "Saltspring Island goat cheese with celebration salad" (see
menu on archived site) to start. We followed that with a amazing
white wine that the waiter recommended and chatted until our main
course arrived. Elizabeth had the "Dungeoness Crab" and I had the
"Organic roast chicken"; both were superb.
After we’d finished, I surprised her with a promise ring :) This
entire relationship has been like a fairy tale and every good fairy
tale needs a ring
.
Dessert arrived ("Death by Chocolate", see below, and "Lemon
Cake") along with a beautiful dessert wine. We stayed and talked for
quite a while before retiring to the waiting limo.
