This was quite a creepy tour in an old part of Edinburgh that has been .. citied (for want of a better work) over. It was quite creepy and I loved it though Elizabeth got a little freaked out. <grin>. The pictures don’t do it justice; mostly because the majority of the tour was in deep darkness. Our tour guide was excellent and really brought the history alive. Mercat uses history undergrads from the university there so she knew was she was talking about as well.

My wife and i took the tour on 30th July 2004 while we were in the room where the second member of the tour team was waiting to tell us the story of annie, we all sat down on the boxes provided across from the fireplace the lights went out and the story began my wife saw someone sitting at the fireplace when the lights flickered she thought it was another member of the tour staff adding effect to the story she was dressed in old fashion cloths and wore a shawl on her shoulders my wife thought she had better concentrate on the story and thought no more about it untill she asked me what i thought about the story and woman with the shawl sitting by the fire i told her there there was only one member of staff in the room and she was in the far lefthand corner has anyone else seen anything in this room my wife was a bit shaken when i told her would like to hear from you on your thoughts. regards
